Frond Grid End User License Agreement (EULA)
English version. 日本語
This agreement is between you and Frond Grid ("Frond Grid", "we", "us").
It covers Frond Grid software: WEFT, SPRIG, MOSAIC, CUT, FIELD, Bubble Studio (with Bubble Studio FX), Six Materials, Odd Parts, and any other product we sell at frondgrid.com.
"The software" means the plug-ins (Audio Unit and VST3), the standalone apps, and everything that comes with them: built-in sounds and samples, presets, patterns, demo tracks, images, manuals and updates.
By installing or using the software, you agree to this agreement. If you do not agree, do not install or use it.
Buying and download
- We sell the software as a digital download through Lemon Squeezy. Lemon Squeezy is our reseller and the merchant of record. It handles payment, sales tax / VAT, receipts and refunds.
- You get the software from the download link in your Lemon Squeezy receipt e-mail. Please keep that e-mail. It is your proof of purchase.
- At launch, the software has no license key and no copy protection. We trust you. It does not mean you may share the software.
1. License
- We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the software.
- The license is for one person (you).
- You may install and use the software on up to three (3) computers that you own or control.
2. Your music and sounds
- You may use the software to make music and sound for any purpose. This includes commercial releases, streaming, film, video, games and broadcast.
- The audio and MIDI you make with the software are yours. This includes music that uses the built-in sounds and presets.
- You do not need to pay royalties. You do not need to credit us. (Credit is always welcome.)
- One exception: do not use the software to make a sample library, preset pack, sound bank or virtual instrument that mainly contains the built-in sounds or presets, played back with little or no change. (See section 3.)
- Music you made while your license was valid stays yours, even if the license ends later.
3. What you may not do
- Share, sell, rent, lend or give away the software, your license, the installer or your download link.
- Upload the software or the installer to file-sharing sites, or post your download link in public.
- Take out the built-in sounds, samples, presets, patterns or images and distribute them, free or paid. For example, as a sample pack, preset pack or sound library.
- Reverse engineer, decompile or modify the software, except where the law allows it.
- Remove or change copyright, license or credit notices.
- Get around any copy protection or license check that we may add later.
4. Ownership, built-in sounds and third-party parts
- The software is licensed, not sold. We and our licensors keep all rights that this agreement does not give you.
- Some built-in sounds are made from public-domain recordings (for example, recordings released under CC0). Those original recordings stay free under their own terms. Our limits in section 3 apply only to our edited versions and to our own sounds and presets, as included in the software.
- The software uses third-party components under their own licenses. For example:
- the JUCE framework;
- open-source libraries such as zlib, libpng, HarfBuzz, FLAC and Ogg Vorbis (the exact list differs by product);
- the Steinberg VST3 SDK and the Apple AudioUnitSDK;
- fonts under the SIL Open Font License 1.1 (for example, Geist and Geist Mono).
- The license notices for these parts come with the software, in its credits / third-party notices file. Those licenses apply to those parts. Nothing in this agreement takes away rights that those licenses give you.
- VST is a registered trademark of Steinberg Media Technologies GmbH. Mac and macOS are trademarks of Apple Inc. Windows is a trademark of the Microsoft group of companies. Other names are trademarks of their owners.
5. Updates
- Updates within the same major version (for example, from 1.0 to 1.x) are free when available.
- We do not have to provide updates. A new major version (for example, 2.0) may be a paid upgrade.
- We will tell you how to get updates (for example, by e-mail or on frondgrid.com). This agreement also applies to updates.
6. Refunds
- Refunds follow the Frond Grid Refund Policy at https://frondgrid.com/legal/refund/. Lemon Squeezy processes all refunds.
- If you get a refund, your license ends. Please delete the software.
7. No warranty
- To the extent the law allows, the software is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind.
- We do not promise that it is free of errors. We do not promise that it works with every host, computer or system.
- Please check the system requirements on the product page before you buy.
8. Limitation of liability
- To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages. For example: loss of data, loss of profits or lost work.
- Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the software.
- This section does not limit any liability that the law does not allow us to limit (for example, for intentional acts or gross negligence).
9. Termination
- You may end this agreement at any time by deleting all copies of the software.
- If you break this agreement, your license ends. You must then delete all copies of the software.
- Sections 2 (last point), 4, 7, 8 and 10 stay in effect after the license ends.
10. Governing law
- This agreement is governed by the laws of Japan.
- If you are a consumer, you keep the rights that the consumer laws of your country give you. This agreement does not take them away.
11. Changes to this agreement
- We may update this agreement for new versions of the software. We will post the new text on frondgrid.com with its date.
